Oak Tyres plants over 60,000 trees with Ecologi

In 2022, Oak Tyres embarked on its mission to become the world’s first climate-positive tyre wholesaler by offsetting the carbon emissions produced by its commercial vehicle fleet within 12 months.

Since then, we have remained steadfast in our commitment, and in partnership with our environmental partner, Ecologi, we have continued to plant trees and contribute to carbon avoidance programmes. Recently, we achieved another milestone by proudly planting over 60,000 trees, and by funding 24 carbon projects worldwide we have avoided 6,400 tons of carbon dioxide being emitted. These projects not only help combat climate change but also create jobs and provide vital resources to communities in need. 

These impactful projects involve the distribution of fuel-efficient cookstoves to families in need, implementing solar power projects in Morocco to harness renewable energy, and actively participating in the restoration and conservation of peatlands in Indonesia. Peatlands are crucial in the fight against climate change, as they absorb and store large amounts of carbon dioxide, thereby contributing to environmental sustainability on a global scale.

We are excited to continue our journey with Ecologi and to achieve our goal of becoming the first climate-positive tyre wholesaler.
